OCTOBER

October promises to be an exciting month for us as we have eleven visitors from our oldest sister city relationship - Hamm, Germany at 49 years - coming from the 17th until the 20th, and there are two events that you are all invited to.
 
 On Sunday evening, October 18 at 6pm, we have an event planned that is a bit out of the ordinary but a great way to show a piece of Americana to our guests. It may be a first time for you as well!  We're having a square dance and potluck! This is a way for our visitors to be physically active and to meet each of us. Nobody except those with limited mobility will be able to keep their seats as the music will make us want to move our feet! So put on your dancin' shoes, bring a tasty dish or two and a beverage to share, and come to Pilgrim Congregational Church, 400 Glenwood Drive, for the fun. You do need to RSVP by Friday evening, the 16th, to Karen by phone or text at 423.653.8666 or by email at fraufrizz@aol.com so that we know how many tables and chairs to set up. We have arranged for a caller to come and teach us the steps then call the dances, so not knowing how to square dance (yet) is not a prerequisite. This will be loads of fun.  You won't want to miss it!
 
Mayor Kelly will be meeting with our visitors on Monday, October 19, at 6pm at Oddstory Brewing, 1604 Central Avenue. You are welcome to join the group and mix and mingle with them and their hosts. Oddstory has a variety of beverages (not just beer) and great food. All attendees are responsible for their own food\snacks\drinks. Dress is casual. Hope to see you there!

Join us Wednesday November 18, 6-9pm for our Annual Sister Cities Celebration at the Walden Club!

Enjoy a tasty dinner at the Walden Club in downtown Chattanooga. We will hear beautiful music from Courtney Cochran and her Irish band. Members will also vote to approve our slate of officers for 2027.

Mingle with the most interesting and global folks in Chattanooga!

Tickets are $45 per person. Advance tickets are required and are available at Eventbrite (click here). The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday November 13th at midnight.

You will choose your meal when purchasing your ticket(s). The choices are salmon, chicken, or vegetarian. All meals come with salad, starch, vegetables, and dessert. Coffee, tea, and water are provided. A cash bar will be available.

This event is open to both members and non-members of Chattanooga Sister Cities. Of course, we would love for everyone to become a member. Annual memberships are only $30 per individual, $50 for a family, or $15 for a student. Visit ChattanoogaSisterCities.org to become a member today!
