The Sister City Association of Chattanooga, Inc. was chartered nearly 45 years ago…

…by the State of Tennessee as a member of Sister Cities International, a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network that creates and strengthens partnerships between U.S. and international communities. We are an official channel for cultural exchange aimed at motivating and empowering private citizens, municipal officials, and business leaders and awakening them to the advantages—and increasingly, the necessity—of being internationally engaged. On the most basic level, sister city relationships allow citizens to exchange ideas, gain an international perspective and increase understanding of global issues.
